“Myrtha” Collection
“Myrtha” had a starting point the Ballet “Giselle” which talks about betrayal, marriage, death, and revenge. In the Second act, brides that died before their wedding day create a cult, where they support each other mutually and take revenge on all the men that caused them pain, and make them dance till death as punishment.
Throughout the process, an interest in the occult and womanhood arose as well as what is passed from one generation to another and all the knowledge we hold in ourselves, and this can go from crochet stitch to a piece of love advice, to generational trauma, but above all, the importance of this connection between us.
This collection collects different techniques such as upcycling handmade crochet tablecloths, patchwork made with deadstock lace and tulle, and handmade crochet bags. The color palette accompanies the traditional marriage colors such as white and pink, to the greens that express our connection with nature, to more heavy and dark colors about death, and mourning, and the loss of innocence.
